Chennai: Recent debates in the Tamil Nadu Assembly have been argued over online, and remarks by actor and director Bose Venkat are now part of that argument.
He said he no longer watches Assembly proceedings and was harsh about how the House works. A video of the comments is circulating.
Criticism of Vijay
Bose Venkat, who has criticised TVK leader Vijay from the start, also criticised the way Vijay spoke in the Assembly. Fans and party workers had waited to hear what he would say, he said, and in the end Vijay spent a long time repeating old charges against the DMK government.
He added that fans pay more attention to Vijay’s clothes and appearance when he comes to the House.
“If there is evidence, it should be published”
Pointing to Vijay’s repeated claim that he holds evidence against the DMK, Bose Venkat said that if the evidence exists it should be made public and acted on. Merely saying it exists, he said, confuses people. He also accused Vijay of pointing only at other people’s faults and never speaking well of himself.
“The Assembly looks like garbage now”
Recording his dissatisfaction, Bose Venkat said: “I don’t watch the Assembly at all now. I watched at the beginning. But now it is like garbage. If garbage is lying in the street, do we admire it? The Assembly is like that now.”
The clip is spreading quickly. Some people are backing him; others are objecting. The remarks about the Assembly and about Vijay are being argued over again in political circles and online.
