Madurantakam / Tharapuram: Campaigning has picked up as the by-elections approach. AIADMK has submitted its official list of star campaigners to the Election Commission.
The list, described as having been prepared under general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, includes senior leaders such as K.P. Munusamy, Dindigul Srinivasan, and Thambidurai.
Party circles say they will campaign for the AIADMK candidates in both constituencies.
Velumani and C.V. Shanmugam are not listed
The names of S.P. Velumani and C.V. Shanmugam, both prominent AIADMK leaders, do not appear. No official reason has been given, and the question of how the party will deploy its campaigners is now being watched.
